At An Post, he leads the organisation’s sustainability agenda, including nationwide decarbonisation and fleet transition. His background spans strategic roles at Musgrave, Lidl, and Sainsbury’s, giving him a practical understanding of supply chain challenges, infrastructure planning, and balancing ambitious climate targets with operational realities.

Richard Scannellf

He plays a key role in ESB’s Sustainability Leadership Plan, with a focus on electrification, grid capacity, and long-term planning. His previous leadership in smart metering, e-mobility, and corporate strategy gives him a deep understanding of the system-level challenges in decarbonising national infrastructure while maintaining reliability and affordability.
