The world fell in love with Simone Manuel the moment she won gold in Rio. Since then, Simone has proven to be a personality that’s easy to connect with an athlete with the courage, fire and grit to perform her best in the biggest moments. After becoming the first African-American woman to win an individual Olympic gold medal in swimming in Rio, Simone became the undisputed face of U.S. sprint as she brought home two Olympic golds and two silver medals. She backed that performance up at the 2019 World Championships, capturing more medals than any other female swimmer - bringing home four golds and three silver medals. She earned a bronze medal in Tokyo, and expects to swim through Paris (2024) and Los Angeles (2028).
A barrier breaker who provides a unique balance of smart and insightful with fun and curious, Simone embraces the opportunity to discuss her role in history and the important angles she provides in discussions about race, inclusion and equality. She hopes to build a legacy that reflects her core values, that leverages her multi-dimensional appeal and that inspires all people to live with intention and dream beyond traditional assumptions.
